Position: Watson Art Centre Coordinator - Full Time Position

The Dauphin and District Allied Arts Council (DDAAC) is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as the Watson Art Centre Coordinator. This is a full-time position.

The role requires flexibility, with 40 hours per week including some evenings and weekends. 

The Watson Art Centre is an active building that hosts musical events, an art gallery, and art & pottery studio, wedding and other community events. The successful candidate should demonstrate an ability to handle multiple open issues and engage positively with the public.

Key Qualifications:

- Strong organizational and communication skills.

- Experience in facility management, event coordination, or a related field.

- Ability to manage volunteers and staff effectively.

- Familiarity with social media and marketing.

-  A diploma, degree or certificate in business or financial management experience is an asset.

 

Salary: $20 - $26 / hour depending on experience and qualifications

Duties to begin as soon as possible.

Watson Art CENTRE COORDINATOR – JOB DESCRIPTION

WORKING HOURS: As required – 40 hours per week. Position will require evening and weekend work. Core hours of providing public service and access are 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm weekdays.

  1. General Administration

  • Communications – directing mail, calls, emails and scanning/filing

  • Maintain all DDAAC agenda, minutes, reports for Executive & Board and support the proper functioning of the Board.

  • Public sales/issue receipts

  • Facilitate gallery programs

  • Manage Centre and Event cash, floats, petty cash, payments in coordination with the Treasurer; make bank deposits as required and exercise signing authority on Centre accounts in conjunction with Executive members

  • Attend Executive, Board and Liaison meetings

  • Liaise with and support partner groups as required

  • Operationalize programs developed as proposed by committees

  • Ensure any grant opportunities and deadlines are brought to the executive in a timely manner

 

  1. Facility Management

  • Ensure online calendar is up to date

  • Manage rental agreement for each booking

  • Coordinate event set-up and exit – public, partner and DDAAC

  • Manage centre security system and user access

  • Review rental schedule requirements with caretakers

  • Coordinate procurement of maintenance supplies, bar supplies and other inventory with caretaking staff

 

  1. Human Resources

  • Manage centre and event staffing

  • Coordinate Centre volunteers

  • Coordinate workshop instructors

 

  1. Marketing & Public Relations

  • Liaise with web/social media provider to ensure website is up to date

  • Coordinate with DDAAC & partners for content for web/social media

  • Prepare and distribute advertising & marketing materials

  • Support special events as requested
