    Haida...the Silent Ones

    Date: February 03, 2014
Time: Feb 3rd through Mar 28th, noon-5pm Mon-Fri or by special appointment
Details: The Watson Art Centre is pleased to present "Haida...the Silent Ones" in the Old Firehall's new exhibition space.  This exhibition of oil paintings by Dauphin artist David Yeo provides a glimpse into the life and culture of the Haida, once an amazing society of mariners, builders, carvers, artists and entrepreneurs who have called the Haida Gwaii (formerly called the Queen Charlotte Islands) home for over 8,000 years.

The artist has tried to preserve and recapture some of the craftmanship and artistry of this society of people as most traces of their past have been lost except for artifacts housed in museums around the world.

The Watson Art Centre presents this exhibition of paintings, drawings, and panels with some archival photographs as a resource for adults, as well as public school students here in the Parkland.
